October 17, 2005 - Little known Facts...

After a standard work week and a very relaxing weekend of vegging on the couch watching movies and doing Sudoku number puzzles, I've decided to fill my blog entry with other useful tidbits.

1. The toilet doesn't flush clockwise, they have so much water pressure that it kind of splashes out of the can.
2. Most toilets have a 1/2 flush or full flush option for water conservation.
3. Australian Chips are North American fries, whereas Crisps are potato chips.
4. 'G'Day' mate is not nearly as popular as 'No Worries' or 'How you going?'.
5. 'Fabulous' is a common descriptive term.
6. Squirrels don't exist, but opossums are very common.
7. Bats fly even in the city parks.
8. Cricket matches are scheduled over 4 days! And they break for Tea?
9. Australians can put a bet on anything and TAB pubs are open 24/7.
10. Rice Bubbles and Frooty-O's are the Australian Rice Krispies and Froot Loops.
11. Veggemite is an Australian favorite. FYI - its an Australian spread made from yeast products.
12. 'Rubbish bins' are garbage cans.
13. 'Lifts' are elevators.
14. 'Booths' are trunks.
15. 'Gents' is the mens room.
