November 6th, 2005 - The Boy Band...

Sunday we slept in and headed to Paddy’s market to show Charlotte the area, who stayed over the night before. We walked through Hyde Park up to the botanical gardens and parked ourselves for a few hours off of the harbor enjoying the sun and a good book. Then it was off to the Opera house and a tour of the Rocks to help her appreciate where we had originally stayed upon our arrival. That night Laure surprised me with a dinner and comedy cruise. We had a lovely evening despite a 21 year old Barbie doll’s birthday celebration and her obnoxious mother. Do you know those people who just don’t let the comedian go on with their act? Amplify the worst you’ve ever seen by 3 and you get the irritating mother. Despite the fact that the first act consisted of two wanna-be singers and the last act consisted of a wanna-be magician, they were all remarkably funny and we had a very enjoyable evening. Whenever we had the opportunity we would meander up to the second deck for some fresh air and a terrific view of the Sydney skyline. For the two of us the cruise killed 2 birds with one stone; a live comedy show to lighten the mood, and a harbor cruise in one of the most picturesque cities in the world. What a wonderful romantic escape from our daily routine, not to mention a great way to score some brownie points – Thanks Laure!
