December 18th, 2005 - Christmas Party Crashers

The night we arrived from Cape Tribulation, Laure and I arrived at our hostel got in touch with Jane's sister Anna only to find out we were invited to their annual Christmas Party. Her and her boyfriend John live in Cairns and although currently renovating their house, continued with the tradition of a x-mas bash. The catch was that this year John's band was performing! We jumped at the opportunity and in half an hour made ourselves presentable and headed over. As expected Anna and her boyfriend John were more than hospitable and we couldn't of asked for kinder hosts, considering the chaos involved in planning an evening for your friends (with a live band!) Afraid that Anna and John would be too worried about us, having a Great Barrier Reef expedition booked for 7:45 the next morning and both of us feeling under the weather we decided to leave slightly early and went straight to bed - hopefully, we're not the 'loser' Canadian relatives-in-law!
