February 19th, 2006 - More Markets and Parks!
Saturday we ventured to the Queen Victoria Market for more fresh food as has become our weekly ritual. Afterwards we walked accross town along the Yarr river that passes straight through the city and along which there is park land. We discovered an Memorial to pay tribute to all of the Austalians who lost their lives in the service. Although slightly bizarre with the crypt and tomb in the basement, their was a spectacular view from the balcony that overlooked Albert Park Lake and off to the Ocean from it's elevated position and across from the Botanical Gardens. We continued our walk through Fawlkner Park at which point Laure was astonished when I pointed out where my daily walk ended to get to work. Finally we made it to Prahran and ventured into yet another fresh market, where we took in the sight and smell of fresh food before we met up with Ben and Amy for a few drinks on a hot Saturday afternoon. That night we headed back into town to a comedy show that didn't compare to those I've seen in Montreal, but were entertaining none-the-less. Overall a very good day!
