March 18th, 2006 – The Commonwealth Games

Wednesday evening was the opening ceremonies for the games and amoungst all of the discussion about Melbourne spending three million AUD on the preparation for the event, they did not disappoint. Representative fish sculptures were lining the Yarra river through Melbourne and that evening, they were lit up with fireworks and fancy light shows cast upon fountains flowing from the fish.
